PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Elliott Smith joined Horrell Company in 2023 and serves as President. He brings with him significant business and legal expertise, with substantial real estate, development, M&A, joint venture and finance experience across a variety of industries and markets. Prior to joining Horrell Company, he served as in-house counsel for Acadia Healthcare, a multi-billion-dollar public company based in Franklin, Tennessee, providing legal guidance, support and oversight as it executed on strategic goals across its national footprint. Smith was also an attorney with Waller Lansden Dortch and Davis, LLP (now part of global law firm Holland & Knight), where he advised both public and private companies on M&A, joint venture, real estate, capital markets, and other strategic business transactions. He has a background in accounting and gained considerable experience as a forensic auditor at Coleman World Group, a premier provider of global relocation services.

Ben received his Affiliate Tennessee Real Estate License in 1984 and his Tennessee Brokers License in 1999. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1980 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration. Prior to joining Horrell Company, he was a homebuilder in Columbia, TN. He has served on several boards including the Boys and Girls Club of Maury County, Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Maury County, the Maury County YMCA, and the Columbia State Community College Foundation. Ben has exclusively represented landlords, tenants, buyers, and sellers throughout the State of Tennessee with an emphasis on Industrial Properties.

Mike graduated from the Univ. of Arkansas where he met his wife Sharon and worked as a college student with the Southwestern Publishing Company as a student dealer and manager for 6 years. In 1989, he joined Horrell Company and officially became a member of SIOR in 1998. Mike has served on several boards including the commercial MLS and the Industrial Advisory Board. His former interests include participating in triathlons and in 2008, completing the Boston Marathon. Mike has also been an active member in Toastmasters since 1989. He has represented corporate companies such as PepsiCo, Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., NAPA Genuine Parts Company, Goodwill Industries International, Inc., Interline Brands, Inc., and U.S. Lumber Group, LLC.

Laura joined Horrell Company in 2007. She previously worked as an insurance agent for State Farm and owned an Allstate insurance agency. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology and a Master of Business Administration. She has served on the board of Rocket Town and was the Chairman for the Young Executives Social Committee. She received her Affiliate Tennessee Real Estate License in 2008, Tennessee Brokers License in 2015, and has completed the Young Leaders Council program.

In 2023, Jeret embarked on a new chapter by joining Horrell Company as an Affiliate Broker. Jeret is a proud alumnus of Goodpasture Christian School and Lipscomb University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance. During his college years, Jeret founded and successfully operated multiple small businesses. His journey in the real estate industry began with residential real estate, where he engaged in wholesaling and property investment. However, it wasn’t long before his passion gravitated towards the dynamic world of commercial real estate. This shift marked the beginning of an exciting journey, fueled by a passion for maximizing opportunities and creating value in the commercial real estate industry.

Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in 2007 and is a proud Nashville native, having graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in 2003. He embarked on his commercial real estate (CRE) career in 2016, specializing in the leasing, sales, and acquisition of commercial properties within the greater Nashville Metro area.

Before becoming a licensed affiliate broker, Matt worked as a Loan Officer with Wells Fargo and Pulte Homes. He also brings valuable experience from his time in the title insurance industry. In addition to his roles as a TN Affiliate Broker, Matt is an active member of the Executive Committee for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Middle TN.

Matt’s diverse client list includes Health Cure Realty Trust, Nashville Ready Mix, BridgeConnector LLC, Smith Douglas Homes, Scholarship Auditions LLC, Brentwood Cabinets, Tri Star Health, Brentwood Title, Conference Technologies Inc., Dunham Hildebrand, PLL, Waynes Co., The Greathouse Co. LLC, D4C Dental Brands Inc., and the Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies.

Ashley started her career in real estate as an Assistant Property Manager for AH4R Management, a nationally recognized rental company specializing in single-family residential properties.

Since first entering the industry, Ashley has gained extensive expertise in the field working for Commercial Property Management companies Cushman & Wakefield and Boyle Nashville. She has overseen the daily operations of over 1.1 million square feet of Class A office Space with amenities and 40,000 square feet of retail space in Williamson County. She has also overseen an additional 330,000 square foot portfolio of office, retail and industrial properties throughout Nashville. Her responsibilities included managing an on-site team, owner relations, daily property operations and financial management practices including budgeting, CAM reconciliations, construction activities and tenant relations.

Ashley is a licensed affiliate real estate broker and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Fayetteville State University.  She is a huge soccer fan and her husband, and two children enjoy cheering on Nashville SC.

Evie attended Austin Peay State University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in 2021. During that period, Evie gained experience in residential real estate at Keller Williams as an Administrative Intern. She moved to Nashville after graduating from APSU to obtain her Master of Business Administration at Belmont University. Evie joined Horrell Company in January 2022 as a Marketing Intern while studying for her MBA. She later graduated in August 2022 and was promoted to Marketing Director and Administrative work for Horrell Company. She is loving the Nashville scene!
